I was given a challenge

7 Jan

My e-mail opened up an opportunity for me this morning.  It ask if I would introduce just one person or better yet one family to the fun, NO, the art of Geo Caching.  Each New Year, millions of people around the world resolve to change something in their lives. Common resolutions include: getting in shape, stressing less, traveling more, and spending more time with family. It said I could put someone on the road to accomplishing all these things simply by introducing them to geo caching.  Well that is what I want to do.

Geo Caching is an awesome game that is played around the world and it is free.  It takes you to places that you would have never found on your own. In a nut shell this site explains it so well.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4VFeYZTTYs&feature=player_embedded  A treasure hunt like no other and did I mention it is free.  Mr. M and Stella hated it at first, but as soon as we started getting into harder hunts and the larger caches they perked up and took notice what is even better, it is free.

You need a GPS that you can enter the co-ordinance into, a computer to register your team name at no cost and get the locations of the hidden caches.  You will also need an open mind that can think both in and out of the box.  I guarantee, you have a cache within a mile or two of you just waiting to be found.  This treasure hunt is all over the world.  No mater where you are or who you are, you can find one close at hand.  If you have an iPhone, you can download an app that is like an all in one for a small price of about 9.99.  It is what I use 90% of the time.

Try something new this New Year.  Get out there and grab some of the fun and some great photos.  Most of the pictures on this blog are from geo chacing.  Life is too short not to share it with the ones you love.  If you love to get outside and have a knack for finding things, if you want to relieve stress or want to spend time with your family you must give it a go.

Please, please try it. If you try it let me know if you liked it.  It all starts with the click of a mouse http://www.geocaching.com.
